Thailand is known for its many beautiful beaches and islands.
The above photos were all taken from Thailand's west coast on the Andaman Sea.
The top two are from relatively remote islands, which can be reached by daily boat.
Above left is taken on Hat Ton Sai near the town of Krabi which is renowned for its limestone formations, particularly on nearby Ko Phi Phi, the location for the filming of The Beach.

Thailand is also known for its many buddhist temples, which are often ornate and decorated in gold, such as the impressive Grand Palace in Bangkok, above.
The city of Chiang Mai in the north has the most temples in the country, with almost one on each corner, whilst Sukhothai contains many remains of temple architecture from a previous kingdom when Sukhothai was in fact the first capital of Thailand.

Above left is the peaceful town of Mae Hong Son in the north west corner of Thailand, near the border of Burma.
The town itself is in a valley, which fills with mist every morning and can be viewed from a temple on the hill as shown in the photo.
Narathiwat (right) is also one of the less touristed destinations, but nonetheless interesting and scenic, located in the south near the border between Thailand and Malaysia.
