Laguna Quilotoa is a lake formed in the crater of an inactive volcano in the central region of Ecuador. Its location makes it a bit of a challenge to visit by public transport, but it is well worth the trip for the spectacular sights from the crater rim. |

Cuenca (above left) is probably the most beautiful colonial town in Ecuador. The photo above right is taken from a bike ride from Banos which descends along a route of about 65km, along a road lined by waterfalls to the town of Puyo in the Amazon basin. |
